Listen to your body

My story begins…

In early February, 2018 my skin started itching. I saw my primary doctor and from there things started escalating. The initial blood tests showed that my pancreas wasn't working right, identified me as diabetic and that my liver tests were also not looking right. By the end of February, I had an ultrasound of my GI or gastrointestinal area, an MRI, a CT Scan which confirmed a mass was found in my pancreas. My pancreas cancer diagnosis was received March 1st. My husband, Jim recommended we submit the initial information to Mayo in Rochester, MN for a second opinion. By March 21st, we had started our appointments and I started chemo on Good Friday. The good news is that this was found earlier than most, because of its location it caused me to itch. The cancer was identified as being in late 1st stage. This is the beginning of healing journey.
