Knowing God through Jesus
I believe my success is due to asking God to be a part of my life through Jesus, His son that God sent in human flesh to die for our sins and give us victory over sin and death. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 NIV
My desire is to help others to know Jesus so that they too can have eternal life and so that Jesus can bring abundance even in the hard places. Psalms 65:11 NLT “You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.”
Do you know Jesus? Do you want the truth? He is the truth, and He wants to show people the way, because He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. To be free we must know Jesus. Knowing Him causes us to become free. The more we know Jesus, the more we will be free from sin, sickness, and all the destructive things of this natural world.
Jesus came to seek and find the lost and reconcile them to Him. If you want to invite Jesus into your life, you can say this prayer and enter into a relationship with Him: Jesus, I know that I am a sinner in need of a savior. I ask you to forgive my sins. I believe that you died on the cross to save me from my sins. I now ask you to be Lord of my life, and I promise to commit my life to you.
If you have said this prayer. Congratulations! Heaven rejoices with you. Luke 15:7 NIV says, "I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent."
Next, you need to become baptized in the Holy Spirit to have a deeper awareness of the presence of God and grow in intimacy with God in prayer. John the Baptist baptized unto the forgiveness of sins, but also proclaimed that Jesus would come with a baptism that would be far more extensive and deep. Matthew 3:11 NIV says, “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." People typically experience speaking in unknown tongues when they are baptized. Acts 2:3-4 NIV 3 "They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them."
Pray that God baptizes you in the power of the Holy Spirit. After praying these prayers, it is important to get into a Holy Spirit filled church that allows freedom for God to move through the gifts of the Spirit that you can read more about in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10. Get a bible. I recommend having a paper bible. Many churches offer at least a copy of the new testament to new believers. However, a free and easily accessible format is the YouVersion app that you can download to your smartphone.
What I have learned is that God is faithful to do that which He says He will do. He is the healer. His word in the bible is truth and it does not return void. In other words, He always does what it says He will do. We just need to take Him at His word. I believe He gave me a second chance to fulfill my call on this earth to help set other people free from the destruction in this world. I presented my mustard seed of faith, which allowed Him to move the mountain in my life.
You may be asking yourself, "How do I hear God and know that I am truly hearing God?" Because I believe that Nathan A. French spoke about this in such a easy to understand, concise way, I am including a paraphrase of him speaking with Steve Schultz on the Elijah Stream program on December 9, 2022;
The heart is deceitful and desperately wicked. However, when you live according to the Spirit and you know God, knowing Him intimately and personally, interacting with Him continually and staying close to Him, while pressing into Him it causes us to be one with Him. And it's in that oneness or that unification with Him, our thoughts become His thoughts, our ways become His ways. And He's a good father. God knows the heart of every person.
When I try to find out if God is directing me to do something, I ask him to make it clear that it is Him. If it requires funds, I ask Him to bring the funds as a sign that He is providing for me so I can do that. I am a friend of God and trust Him. I'm not trying to figure anything out. I'm not leaning on my own understanding. I'm just simply walking in my child like faith. I just believe that if God wants me to do something, He will make a way and that shows me that he is sending me. Child-like faith is when we are asking God for direction, He tells us what He wants us to do and we do it, (keeping in mind it falls in line with who we know Him to be according to the bible). Of course He wants to bless you as His child and you love to obey Him. Listen and obey are the principles to success in God's kingdom. Whatever God wants, decide to do it even before you hear a request from God. Receive His love and get a revelation of His love and that will remove the opportunity for a religious or critical spirit to come upon you.
How do you walk with God? Spend time with Him. Seek first His Kingdom. Seeking his face is sitting quietly, asking questions and listening for His voice from a desire to be obey. He is wanting us to be led by love.
